Just arrived Event Horizon‘s F&Gs. If you are new to what these are, these are the “Folded & Gathered”, the books in their printed but unbound form. This is a picture of their folded signatures and covers (not affixed to their hardcovers yet). They just need their binding (corset as I think of it) to get their book shape. This is wonderful progress in our book making journey. The book official publishes Dec 15, 2024.

We took our next big step closer to our Kickstarter for Event Horizon… we made our Kickstarter prelaunch page public on the actual site of Kickstarter! This means the project is officially up on Kickstarter as ready to launch soon, kind of like rolling out the rocket to the launch pad to get ready for launch day. We’re officially a project about to launch for others to discover.
Notice anything? YES, we are launching as a PROJECT WE LOVE! This means Kickstarter thinks we got a pretty cool concept going on, and they gave us their seal of “LOVE THIS, LET’S GO GET THIS FUNDED!”
Many of you preregistered on our pre-launch page already, thank you! If you like clicking, you can also click on the Kickstarter page to be notified there too if you don’t mind a few megaphones in your email box on 4/9. Getting followers to this page helps build excitement in their algorithm and also signals to other people on the fence about whether to back: “Hey, what’s this crowd forming over here, let me go check out this project”. Surprise! Cover Variants for Event Horizon!!
In addition to our lead cover by Karen S. Darboe, in the spirit of multiverses, parallel universes and comic book culture: we have two additional cover variants to make three versions of hardcover by an electric team of artists, each offering something special! Some are limited prints, and Kickstarter backers have exclusive access to grab them first.
Our main Karen S. Darboe cover is hardcover with foil stamping to accentuate the yellow-gold hued drip lines of being “spaghettified” by a black hole and their luminous accretion disks that swirl around them.
The Armando Ramirez-Galen Ihlenfeldt hardcover offers blue and white electrified customized endpapers in both print & digital.
The BLUSTERONE hardcover is a limited print run of 100, featuring art from original commissioned canvas work (30” X 20” ACRYLIC AND BLACK GESSO ON CANVAS) printed on textured paper for the feel of a canvas work.
